MOPTA/PPAT

The Missouri Pre-Service Teacher Assessment (MoPTA and PPAT) is required for certification by the state of Missouri for candidates seeking teaching certification and is aligned with Missouri Teacher Standards and Quality Indicators. The assessment is taken during the student teachers clinical experience, MoPTA assesses their instructional capability prior to receiving a license and is designed to develop more effective teachers in the classroom, identify student teachers strengths and areas for improvement of practice, and contribute to their development plan for professional growth in the profession.

MOSLPA

The Missouri School Leader Performance Assessment is designed to provide opportunities for school leadership candidates to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and abilities as instructional leaders. It was developed by The Educational Testing Service (ETS) in collaboration with State educators to measure what candidates know and their performance. It is a performance-based assessment that schools can use to determine the "best fit" for school leader candidates and that states can use to align programs with local and national standards, including the Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium and the Common Core State Standards.

MoSCPA

The Missouri School Counselor Performance Assessment (MoSCPA) is required for certification by the state of Missouri for test takers seeking school counselor certification. The Missouri School Counselor Performance Assessment (MoSCPA) is designed to demonstrate the candidate's knowledge of the Missouri Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling Program Components, emphasize the test taker's role in the environment of the school community, and accent the role of the counselor building relationships with colleagues and students.

PPAT

The PPAT evaluates test takers on their abilities to impact student learning as it relates to the InTASC Model Core Teaching Standards, demonstrating that they have the basic pedagogical content knowledge and application for the classroom to begin teaching as an entry-level teacher. It is designed to develop more effective teachers in the classroom, identify strengths and areas for improvement of practice, allow student teachers to continually refine their teaching practices, and contribute to a development plan for professional growth in the profession.
