Reader positions are available based upon test taker volumes. Submitting an application does not automatically constitute your employment as a Reader. ETS reserves the right to withdraw an invitation prior to the scheduled AP Reading session based upon business needs.

Temporary Work AuthorizationPersons who are not legally authorized to work in the U.S. may be eligible for temporary work authorization in an H-1B visa classification for "specialty occupations." For persons selected to receive an invitation to serve as a Reader, ETS may attempt to obtain H-1B work authorization. H-1B visas are employer-specific. In other words, you may not work for ETS with an H-1B Visa obtained for you by another U.S. employer. If you are currently working in the U.S. within an H-1B status obtained by another U.S. employer, ETS must obtain approval of a separate H-1B petition on your behalf in order for you to work for ETS. In addition, we must explore whether persons who are in the U.S. in another visa status can in fact obtain H-1B status with ETS' sponsorship without jeopardizing their current immigration status.
As part of the documentation required to support ETS' petition for H-1B status on your behalf, you are required to submit copies of your relevant degree(s). If your degree is not specific to the AP Exam you are applying to score, you will need to send a copy of your school transcripts. Please prepare to send this extra documentation along with your completed Reader application form.
